Yesterday morning, Ali was doing some early reading and sent me an email with the sweetest quote from poet Elizabeth Bishop. It made her think of Oliver and after I read it, I thought it would be perfect to go with this video of Ollie chatting away to himself...
"At my house as I write there is a four-month-old baby who has just discovered his voice; not his crying voice, but his speaking, singing or poetry-voice, and he devotes stretches of the day to trying it out. He can produce long trills, loud or soft, and repeated bird-like cries, obviously with pleasure"
Glad you like it! I do too. And Oliver enacts it perfectly (of course he does!) It IS kind of birdlike, especially around 12-13 seconds. She says that, but it didn't seem true until I heard it. Give Ollie my love. His poetry voice. Yes. Our Baby Poet.
